The government of Ontario is introducing a new pilot project that will help more than 1,800 immigrants get local training in their professional fields.

The Ontario Bridging Participant Assistance Program will be in effect for 19 months. It will help newcomers cover the cost of attending short-term college and university bridge training programs that are not covered under the Ontario Student Assistance Program (OSAP).

The aim of these programs is to rapidly provide immigrants with local training that will enable them to find work that match their education and employment backgrounds.
