The government of Newfoundland and Labrador has introduced a new stream into the Newfoundland and Labrador Provincial Nominee Program (NLPNP).
Through the Family Connections category, immigrant families living in the province for at least one year can sponsor family members abroad who wish to relocate and work in Newfoundland and Labrador.
Sponsors must be able to provide settlement assistance to family members during the immigration process and after arrival. The category is not open to family members who are covered by Citizenship and Immigration Canada’s Family Class category (dependant children, spouses, common-law partners, parents and grandparents).
The category is geared towards applicants who can contribute to the Newfoundland and Labrador work force. The applicant should have a permanent full-time job offer from an employer in the province, or the intention and ability to obtain one. The applicant must have completed post-secondary education, have completed at least one year of work experience, and have adequate English language ability to work in the province.
This category adds to the existing Skilled Worker, Immigrant Entrepreneur, and Immigrant Investor categories of the NLPNP.
