Each year, New Brunswick welcomes several hundred immigrants through the New Brunswick Provincial Nomination Program (NBPNP). This program allows individuals who wish to live and work in New Brunswick to come to Canada based on a nomination by the province.

There are three existing categories under the NBPNP: the Job Offer Applicants category, the Family Support category, and the Business Applicants category.

The Government of New Brunswick has recently announced a temporary pause on one of their three categories, the Business Applicants. As of September 6, the government of New Brunswick will no longer be accepting new business applications. This is due to an overwhelming amount of applications already in line.

Foreign nationals with applications already in progress under the Business Applicant category of the NBPNP are not affected by this announcement. This pause will remain in effect until further notice from the provincial government.

New Brunswick’s two other categories, the Job Offer Applicants category and the Family Support category are still accepting applications.
