Minimum CRS score for Express Entry drops to 440 for the second time in 2018

Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada has issued 3,750 invitations to apply for permanent residence status in an Express Entry draw that took place on August 8.

Express Entry candidates issued invitations in this draw had a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System score of 440 in this draw.

IRCC applied the 'tie-break' rule in the August 8 draw and the date and time specified was January 31, 2018 at 00:06:40 UTC. By implementing the 'tie-break' procedure, all candidates with a Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score above 440, as well as those candidates with scores of 440, who submitted an Express Entry profile before that time were issued an Invitation to Apply (ITA).

Anyone looking to immigrate to Canada through the programs managed by the Express Entry system must first meet the eligibility requirements for either the Federal Skilled Worker Class (FSWC), Federal Skilled Trades Class (FSTC) or Canadian Experience Class (CEC).

An Express Entry candidate's CRS core is determined by information provided in his or her profile regarding factors such as education, work experience, language ability, among others. A candidate's assigned CRS score determines his or her ranking in the Express Entry pool.

All candidates who have obtained an ITA in the August 8 Express Entry invitation round will have 60 days to submit a complete application for Canadian permanent residence to IRCC.
