A total of 272 immigration candidates were invited to apply for a provincial nomination for permanent residence in Manitoba's first Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) draw of the year.

Invited individuals were invited through one of the following immigration streams through the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP):

The invitations are known as Letters of Advice to Apply (LAA). Under the Skilled Workers In Manitoba stream, 236 LAA's were issued to individuals with a minimum Expression of Interest (EOI) score of 461.

A total of 7 LAA's were issued under the Skilled Workers Overseas stream, with a minimum EOI score of 722.

Under the International Education Stream, 29 LAA's were issued. No minimum EOI score is required for this stream.

The Skilled Workers in Manitoba stream and the Skilled Workers Overseas streams are used by the Manitoba provincial government to fill provincial labour needs.

Candidates who are applying from outside Canada must have a connection to the province. This includes having close family or friends in Manitoba, previous experience in Manitoba, or an invitation under one of the MPNP's Strategic Recruitment Initiatives.

For this draw, all candidates who were considered for the Skilled Workers Overseas were invited under a Strategic Recruitment Initiatives.

Candidates who are applying through the Skilled Workers in Manitoba stream, do not need to be currently in Canada.

International students who have in-demand skills and who graduated from an educational institute in Manitoba may also receive an LAA under the International Education Stream.

Express Entry

Candidates who have an Express Entry profile are ranked according to the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS). They are assessed on factors such as age, work experience, education and language ability.

Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) invites the highest-ranking candidates to apply for permanent residence in regular Express Entry draws.

Those who receive a provincial nomination are awarded an additional 600 CRS points, practically guaranteeing an invitation in a subsequent Express Entry draw.
