The province of British Columbia has invited 76 candidates to apply for Canadian permanent residence under its Provincial Nominee Program (PNP).
The November 17 BC PNP Tech Pilot draw required a minimum score of 80 points across all categories.
The BC PNP Tech Pilot offers a fast-track immigration pathway for IT workers and international students who have a valid job offer in one of 29 eligible occupations.
Candidates receive points for their human capital such as their education, work experience, and language skills when they register through BC's Skills Immigration Registration System (SIRS).
Candidates invited under the Skills Immigration and Express Entry BC streams need a valid job offer from a BC-based employer.
The benefit of receiving a nomination invitation under Express Entry BC is that successful candidates get an extra 600 points toward their Express Entry Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score which virtually guarantees they will receive an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for Canadian permanent residence in the next Express Entry draw.
Skills Immigration candidates who get invitations from BC will have their permanent residence applications processed by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) separately from the Express Entry system.
