British Columbia invited 57 Skills Immigration and Express Entry B.C. candidates to apply for a provincial nomination in a new Tech Pilot draw held June 11.
The BC Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP)'s Tech Pilot provides an accelerated pathway to Canadian permanent residence for international tech workers with a one-year, full-time job offer in one of its 29 eligible occupations.
The job offer must have at least 120 days remaining at the time of application to the BC PNP.
This was the fifth consecutive Tech Pilot draw with a minimum score of 90 in each of the four Express Entry BC (EEBC) and Skills Immigration categories targeted.
Scores are based on information provided by candidates when registering with the BC PNP, which is the first required step for most Skills Immigration and Express Entry categories.
The BC PNP: Skills Immigration Registration System (SIRS) is a points-based system that evaluates candidates based on factors like education, work experience and proficiency in English or French.
Invited candidates under the Express Entry BC stream who are approved for a British Columbia provincial nomination will receive an additional 600 Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) points toward their Express Entry profile.
