British Columbia invited 73 Skills Immigration and Express Entry BC candidates to apply for a provincial nomination in a new Tech Pilot draw held July 16.
This is the second largest number of nominations issued for the British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP) Tech Pilot this year.
The latest Tech Pilot draw is also the eighth consecutive invitation round with a minimum score of 90 in each of the four targeted categories.
Invitations issued on July 16 went to candidates registered in the Express Entry BC (EEBC) Skilled Worker and International Graduate categories and candidates in the Skills Immigration (SI), Skilled Worker and International Graduate categories.
The British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP) Tech Pilot was created after the 2016 TechTalentBC Report identified the shortage of skilled tech workers as the biggest concern for companies in the sector.
Launched in 2017, the BC PNP’s Tech Pilot is designed the provide a fast-tracked pathway to Canadian permanent residence for international talent with a job offer of at least a year from a B.C employer in one of the pilot’s 29 key eligible technology occupations.
Skilled Workers and International Graduates invited under the Express Entry BC and Skilled Immigration streams who are approved for a British Columbia provincial nomination will receive an additional 600 Express Entry Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) points toward their Express Entry profile.
