IRCC issues record number of invitations in the month of January

Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada has now issued a total of 11,150 invitations to apply for Canadian permanent residence in the first month of 2019.

In the latest draw, which took place on January 30, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) issued 3,350 Invitations to Apply (ITAs) to candidates in the Express Entry pool with scores as low as 438.

For this draw, IRCC applied the tie-break rule and the registered time was April 26, 2018, at 05:00:46 UTC. This means that all candidates with a  Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score above 438, as well as those candidates with scores of 438, who entered their profile in the Express Entry pool before that specified time, received an ITA in the January 30 draw.

The Express Entry system manages the pool of Canadian immigration candidates for three of Canada's main economic immigration categories: Federal Skilled Worker Class, Canadian Experience Class and the Federal Skilled Trades Class.

Candidate profiles are assigned a score based on the CRS, which considers factors such as age, education, work experience and language abilities in one or both of Canada's official languages.

Candidates scores are dynamic and can be improved.

Express Entry candidates who obtain an ITA have 60 days from the date of receipt to submit a complete permanent residence application to the Government of Canada.
