Here are the results of Canada's most recent Express Entry draw on March 23, 2023.

In a surprise move, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has held a fourth all-program draw for this year. This means that IRCC once again considered candidates from all three programs managed under Express Entry - the Canadian Experience Class (CEC), the Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP), and the Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP).

On what would normally be a week between Express Entry draws, today's draw saw IRCC issue 7,000 invitations for the second consecutive draw. This comes after IRCC set an all-time record last Wednesday, with the largest all-program in Express Entry history on March 15, 2023

This morning's draw invited Express Entry candidates with a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 484, down six points from the cut-off score from last week's draw (minimum CRS score of 490).

Express Entry candidates who are still in the pool can likely expect to see another draw occur in two weeks' time.

About Express Entry

Express Entry is the system that the Canadian federal government uses to manage immigration applications from three programs (the CEC, FSWP and FSTP), which helps Canada to attract foreign skilled workers into this country through permanent residence (PR).

Immigrating to Canada through Express Entry involves first verifying that an interested foreign national is in fact eligible for at least one of the three programs managed by the Express Entry system. After eligibility for any one of these programs is verified, eligible and interested foreign nationals can proceed to submit an Express Entry profile online through IRCC. Simultaneously, this will give candidates an opportunity to review their CRS scores.

At this time, foreign nationals who submit a profile will need to wait for IRCC to conduct another Express Entry draw, during which they may be invited to apply for PR in Canada. In order to be among those selected for an Invitation to Apply (ITA) during any Express Entry draw, a candidate must have a CRS score that exceeds that particular draw's chosen cut-off score.

Once they receive an ITA, candidates will have 60 days (from the exact date of ITA receipt) to formally apply for Canadian PR by completing and submitting an online application to IRCC. In other words, ITAs serve as the true "key" to permanent residence in this country because foreign national applicants through Express Entry can only apply for permanent resident status in Canada once they hold an ITA.
