Improved social housing and job creation in Quebec

the CanadaVisa Team - 25 February, 2011

The Government of Canada has announced that nearly $9 million will be given to 116 housing cooperatives and non-profit organizations in Quebec. The funds will be used for social housing renovations and for new investments.

Funding for the renovation projects is provided through Canada’s Economic Action Plan. The aim of the project is to help stimulate the economy by creating jobs in Quebec and to improve the quality of life for residents living areas where social housing is needed. The renovated homes will provide a safe and comfortable home for residents.

Canada’s Economic Action Plan is providing nearly $8 billion to build affordable and quality housing across Canada. Through these projects, the Government of Canada helps encourage home ownership, create jobs and helps to stimulate the construction industry. $1 billion will be invested in repairing housing units across the country. Through these programs, Canadian residents will be able to buy affordable homes without having to compromise quality.
