Immigration process expedited for 217 Haitian children adopted by Canadian parents
Citizenship and Immigration Canada announced today that the adoption process has been expedited for 217 Haitian children adopted by Canadian parents, of whom 31 are already in Canada.
Last week, Citizenship, Immigration and Multiculturalism Canada Minister Jason Kenney announced that the
adoption process would be expedited for children who were already in the process of being adopted by Canadians when the earthquake struck Haiti on January 12.
To date, the Haitian government has given its approval for 217 of those adoptions by Canadian parents.
