Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada held the largest draw so far in 2018 on September 5 with 3,900 invitations to apply for Canadian permanent residence issued to candidates in the Express Entry pool.

The minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score for the draw was 440, continuing the trend of the two previous draws. Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) also used the the 'tie-break' procedure in the latest draw, and the date and time for the tie-break was April 29, 2018 at 14:28:34 UTC.

This means that all candidates with a CRS score of 440 and above who submitted an Express Entry profile before that specified time were issued an Invitation to Apply (ITA).

To immigrate to Canada under the Express Entry selection system, individuals must first demonstrate that they meet the eligibility criteria for one of the three programs it manages — the Federal Skilled Worker Class (FSWC), Federal Skilled Trades Class (FSTC) or Canadian Experience Class (CEC).

A candidate's CRS score is based on their education, work experience, language ability, and other factors. All candidates issued an ITA on September 5 will have 60 days to submit a complete application for Canadian permanent resident status to IRCC.
