Federal Express Entry draw issues new invitations to apply for Canadian PR

The Government of Canada has issued 3,900 invitations to apply for Canadian permanent residence in a new Express Entry draw held Monday, October 29. The minimum score requirement was 442.

Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) applied the 'tie-break' rule for candidates with a Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 442, issuing invitations to those who submitted their Express Entry profiles before October 16, 2018 at 06:09:04 UTC. 

Candidates who have received an Invitation to Apply (ITA) have 60 days to submit a complete Canadian permanent residence application to IRCC, including all supporting documents.

To enter the Express Entry pool, all individuals must meet the eligibility requirements for one of the following three economic immigration programs: the Federal Skilled Worker (FSW), Federal Skilled Trades Class (FSTC) or Canadian Experience Class (CEC).

Express Entry candidates are given a CRS score out of 1,200 based on factors that include education, work experience, language ability, among other factors.

The CRS is dynamic and candidates in the Express Entry pool can take steps to boost their ranking.
