Express Entry Quebec and five PNP draws in one week

Last week saw seven immigration draws take place including one Express Entry draw, a Quebec Arrima draw as well as six Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) draws.

The five provinces that held PNP draws were Ontario, Saskatchewan, Alberta, B.C. and Manitoba. B.C. held two draws.

On May 26, Canada invited 500 Express Entry candidates to apply for permanent residence.

Invited candidates had a provincial nomination. The minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score was 713. This may seem high. However, those who receive a provincial nomination receive an additional 600 CRS points. This means that invited candidates needed only 113 core points to receive an ITA.

Quebec Arrima draw

Quebec invited 90 immigration candidates to apply for permanent selection. The province's immigration ministry invited Regular Skilled Worker Program (RSWP) candidates, on May 27.

Invited candidates needed to have submitted an Expression of Interest (EOI) on Quebec's online platform, Arrima.

Ontario invites foreign workers with job offers

Ontario invited 64 skilled workers to apply for a provincial nomination on May 25.

Invited candidates had a profile in the province's new Expression of Interest (EOI) system, and were registered for the Regional Immigration Pilot. These candidates are now eligible for the Employer Job Offer: Foreign Worker Stream.

The Regional Immigration Pilot allows immigrants to live in rural communities in Ontario.

Saskatchewan invites workers with in-demand experience

Saskatchewan invited 269 immigration candidates to apply for a provincial nomination for permanent residence on May 25.

Invited candidates were eligible for the International Skilled Worker category under the Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP). Specifically, invitations were sent out under the Occupations In-Demand subcategory.

In addition, those who were invited needed an EOI score of at least 65. They also needed an Educational Credential Assessment as well as work experience in one of 36 in-demand occupations listed on the province's website.

Alberta invites 250 immigration candidates

Alberta invited 250 Express Entry candidates to apply for a provincial nomination for permanent residence on May 18. The province announced the draw on its website on May 25.

Invited candidates needed to have an Express Entry profile and a CRS score of at least 301.

Those who receive a nomination through the Alberta Express Entry stream will receive an additional 600 CRS points on the Express Entry system. This would effectively guarantee receiving an Invitation to Apply (ITA).

B.C. invites immigration candidates in two PNP draws

British Columbia invited 370 immigration candidates to apply for a provincial nomination in two draws, held on May 25.

The province has been holding two different draws since February: a general draw and a draw targeting retail and wholesale trade managers, as well as restaurant and food service managers.

Invitations were issued to those who were eligible through the Skilled Worker, International Graduate, as well as the Entry level and Semi-skilled subcategories under both the Skills Immigration (SI) and the Express Entry B.C. (EEBC) categories.

The minimum scores for the general draw were between 76 and 94 points. Under this draw, a total of 323 candidates were invited.

As for the separate draw, a total of 47 invitations were issued with scores of 111.

Manitoba invites skilled workers and students

Manitoba invited a total of 232 candidates to apply for a provincial nomination for permanent residence, on May 25.

Those with a provincial nomination can use it to support their final application for permanent residence.

A total of 166 invitations were issued under the Skilled Workers in Manitoba stream. A minimum EOI score of 415 was enough to receive an invitation.

Another 46 invitations were issued under the Skilled Workers Overseas stream, with a minimum EOI score of 703.

A further 20 invitations were issued under the International Education Stream. There is no minimum EOI score requirement for this stream.
