Ontario has issued 758 invitations to apply for provincial nomination for permanent residence on June 17.

This is the largest number of invitations issued in a single draw since January, 2018.

The Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) draw was targeting skilled trade workers eligible for the Express Entry Skilled Trades Stream.

To be eligible, candidates must have had experience in a skilled trade and had a profile in the Express Entry pool.

Notifications of Interests (NOIs) were issued to candidates with a Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) scores between 400 and 436.

Express Entry is the system with which the federal government and some provincial government manages its applications through the following three categories:

Candidates who receive an NOI from Ontario or another province or territory except Quebec and Nunavut, receive an additional 600 CRS points. This practically guarantees an invitation to apply for permanent residence in a subsequent Express Entry draw.

Ontario has invited a total of 948 Skilled Trades Stream candidates so far this year. This draw is Ontario’s eleventh provincial draw of 2020.

This is the second Ontario draw this month. Ontario invited candidates with CRS scores as low as 358 on June 3.
