Citizenship and Immigration Canada Supporting Prince Edward Island Immigrants

the CanadaVisa Team - 22 July, 2015

Prince Edward Island (PEI) will be receiving federal funding to develop online content, tools, and services to promote the province as an immigration destination and to improve the immigrant settlement process. The funding was recently announced by the Minister of Citizenship and Immigration Canada, Diane Finley. It is part of $18.8 million funding package that was announced earlier this year to increase online immigration support in several provinces and territories.

"New internet-based services will provide essential information for all newcomers and allow us to do an even better job of promoting the island as a new home for immigrants," explains Richard Brown, PEI Minister of Development and Technology. "The department is committed to supporting the Prince Edward Island Association for Newcomers and these funds will assist them in their support and settlement efforts."

All the provincial and territorial immigration portals will link to www.cic.gc.ca/, the federal immigration support website maintained by Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) and Human Resources and Social Development Canada (ESDC). It provides comprehensive information to help prepare prospective and new immigrants for living, working, and studying in Canada.
