Citizenship, Immigration and Multiculturalism Canada Minister Jason Kenney announced today that certain visa applications from Philippines residents whohave been affected by Typhoon Ketsana will be processed on a priority basis.
The processing of new and existing Family Class Sponsorship applications and applications for Temporary Residence in Canada will be expedited for Filipino applicants, who must notify Citizenship and Immigration Canada and demonstrate that they have been directly and significantly affected by current situation.
"I would like to express my deepest sympathy and support for the people of the Philippines affected by this terrible disaster. This government is movingquickly to reunite Canadians and permanent residents with their families by extending a welcome to those who wish to come to Canada," Kenney said.
