Canada invites 3,750 Express Entry candidates to apply for permanent residence

The Government of Canada has issued 3,750 invitations to apply for Canadian permanent residence in the latest Express Entry draw that took place on July 25. Candidates invited had to meet the minimum Comprehensive Ranking System score requirement of 441 points in order to receive an invitation.

Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) says the 'tie-break' rule was once again implemented in this draw and the time stamp was December 31, 2017, at 12:14:21 UTC. Since the 'tie-break' rule was applied, all candidates with a CRS score above 441, as well as those candidates with scores of 441, who have submitted their profile before this specified date and time, received an Invitation to Apply (ITA) in this draw.

Individuals interested in immigrating to Canada through Express Entry must first meet the eligibility requirements for one of the three immigration programs managed by the Express Entry system: the Federal Skilled Worker Class (FSWC), Federal Skilled Trades Class (FSTC) or Canadian Experience Class (CEC).

Once in the Express Entry pool, candidates are assigned a Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score based their profile, which assesses them for education, work experience, language ability, among other factors. A candidate's assigned CRS score determines his or her ranking in the pool.

Candidates who received an ITA in the July 25 Express Entry invitation round have 60 days to submit a complete application for Canadian permanent residence status to the Canadian government.
