Vimal Sivakumar - 15 March, 2023
Here are the results of Canada's most recent Express Entry draw on March 15, 2023.
Following their last Express Entry draw (on March 1) for candidates who applied to a Provincial Nominee Program (PNP), Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) held another draw today, the immigration department's largest all-program draw ever. Today's draw marks just the third all-program draw of 2023.
Note: The previous record for all-program draws was 5,500 ITAs on January 18, 2023
This latest Express Entry draw saw IRCC issue 7,000 invitations to Express Entry candidates with a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 490, which stays consistent with the exact CRS cut-off score from IRCC's last all-program draw on January 18, 2023 (minimum CRS score of 490).
Express Entry candidates who remain a part of the pool can expect to see another draw occur in two weeks' time.
About Express Entry
Express Entry is the name given to the system used by Canada's federal government to manage immigration applications for three programs - the Canadian Experience Class (CEC), the Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP), and the Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP). Express Entry uses these programs to bring foreign skilled workers into this country by offering permanent residence (PR) to these candidates.
The Express Entry process involves a draw-based selection system, which first requires interested foreign skilled workers to self-verify their eligibility for one of the three Express Entry programs listed above. Once this step is complete, eligible candidates will submit a profile through IRCC's online portal and review their CRS scores.
Following the profile submission step in the Express Entry process, candidates must wait for IRCC to conduct their next Express Entry draw, which will invite a number of candidates to apply for PR in Canada.
Note: To be selected in any given Express Entry draw, a candidate must have a CRS score above the cut-off score for that particular draw
At this time, chosen candidates will be able to formally apply for Canadian PR, because this is when IRCC will issue them an Invitation to Apply (ITA). ITAs are the "key" to PR in Canada because only upon receiving one can any foreign national apply for permanent resident status in this country via Express Entry.
ITA recipients are given 60 days from the day they receive their ITA to complete and submit their PR application to IRCC.
