Effective 00:01 Eastern Time on June 20, Canada suspended its vaccination requirements for domestic travel, travel from Canada to abroad, federally regulated transportation sectors, and federal government employees.

Canada is also suspending random COVID-19 testing at all airports between June 11 and June 30. This is meant to reduce congestion at airports. Travellers who are unvaccinated will still be tested upon arrival but they will be tested offsite beginning July 1.

Nearly 90% of Canadians have been vaccinated against COVID-19. Case counts are also declining. As such, the Canadian government has said it can ease travel rules due to the improved public health situation.

On the other hand, vaccination requirements for those on cruise ships will remain in effect, as will the requirements for all travellers on cruise ships, planes, and trains to continue wearing masks.
