Canada's Minister of Foreign Affairs announced today that Canada has plans to open a new embassy in Doha, Qatar, to enhance political and trade relationsbetween the two countries.
"Canada and Qatar share a commitment to development, human rights, democracy and security," Cannon said.
The new embassy is expected to expand trade existing trade relations between Canada and Qatar.
"Trade and investment opportunities for Canadian companies in Qatar are growing rapidly, particularly in sectors such as oil and gas, infrastructure,aerospace, education and architectural services. Trade commissioners in the new embassy will be ready to open doors for our companies doing business in theregion," said Stockwell Day, Canada's Minister of International Trade.
