New invitations to apply for a provincial nomination went out to eligible British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP) Tech Pilot immigration candidates on November 7.
A total of 35 invitations to apply for a provincial nomination were issued to skilled workers and international graduates under the BC PNP's Skills Immigration and Express Entry BC streams. These candidates are required to have a one-year full-time job offer in one of the 29 in-demand occupations.
Express Entry BC candidates who obtain a nomination from the Government of British Columbia will be awarded an additional 600 points toward their overall Express Entry Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score. These additional points effectively guarantee these candidates an Invitation To Apply (ITA) for Canadian permanent residence at a later federal Express Entry draw.
The remaining Skills Immigration candidates will have their permanent residence applications processed directly by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) if their provincial nomination applications are approved.
The first step to apply under the Skilled Worker and International Graduate categories of the BC PNP is the creation of an online profile and registration in the program's Skills Immigration Registration System (SIRS).
Once registration is complete, a candidate is assigned a SIRS score based on their credentials, such as completed education, work experience and adaptability factors.
All candidates issued an invitation to apply will have 30 calendar days from the date they received their invitation to apply to the BC PNP and pay the required processing fee.
