A new reciprocal agreement between the province of Ontario and Australia makes exchanging a driver's license much easier for Australians in Ontario.
Effective January 25, Australians who have relocated to Ontario can exchange their Australian driver's licenses to Ontario without having to take a road or knowledge test, although they still need to meet medical and vision standards.
The government of Ontario says it expects that an average of 375 new residents will exchange their Australian driver's licenses each year.
Ontario already has reciprocal agreements with Austria, Belgium, France, Great Britain, Germany, Japan, Korea, Switzerland, and the United States, as well as all Canadian provinces and territories.
