A new draw held August 27 through British Columbia’s Tech Pilot issued 63 invitations to apply for a provincial nomination to eligible Skills Immigration and Express Entry candidates.

The BC PNP Tech Pilot assists B.C. employers in attracting and retaining in-demand foreign talent by providing a fast-track, permanent immigration pathway for tech workers and international students of eligible B.C. higher-learning institutions.

In order to be eligible, candidates must have a valid job offer in one of the program’s specified occupations. The job offer must be for at least one year and have at least 120 days remaining at the time of application.

The August 27 draw saw invitations issued to candidates in the Skilled Worker and International Graduate categories of the Express Entry BC (EEBC) and Skills Immigration streams.

The minimum score of 90 in each of the four targeted categories has not changed since April 2019.

In order to be considered for immigration to British Columbia through the Skilled Worker and International Graduate categories, individuals must first create a profile through the BC PNP online portal and register under the program’s Skills Immigration Registration System (SIRS).

Candidates are evaluated based on factors like level of education, work experience, proficiency in English and location of employment.

Express Entry candidates who receive a nomination from British Columbia will be awarded an additional 600 points toward their Express Entry Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score and are effectively guaranteed an Invitation To Apply (ITA) in a future federal draw.
