Hello, hope everyone is well.
I am planning to move to Yukon from Vancouver.
Would anyone mind sharing your glimpse of experience of immigrating to Yukon through PNP, especially under critical impact worker program?

I heard it only requires 6 months of work experience in order to be nominated?
Is that true?

thank you so much.
I’d really appreciate any answer

Did you go on the Yukon site because they announced changes due to all the backlogs?

Yes but they just made a new announcement, saying that they will start accepting applications again from White Horse starting end of this month.
Doesn’t it mean something positive?

I thought it’s one of the easiest pnp program to go for.
Could you please enlighten me why you said so?
How is is easy? They only accept a few hundred people and you don’t even have a job or know if your employer and you meet requirements. The issue is Yukon is backlogged with applications. Too many applications for too few spots.

So if I can get a job, there will be a better chance?
Thanks for answering tho

You need a job and employer willing to go through the process.

The program is driven by employers looking to fill critical vacancies when qualified Canadians or permanent residents cannot be found. As a result, the number of foreign workers accepted into the program is connected to job vacancies in the territory. If you cannot find work in the Yukon, then you cannot participate in the program.

I was curious and search. If OP don't have job yet offered by an employer in Yukon, the chance of applying on Jan 29 is not very high.

They are only accepting 125 new and complete application on Jan 29!

And it's for one of the streams only. And it's heavily involve with the employer. (things like putting up ad to hire locally first)
Learn about the Yukon Nominee Program process | Yukon.ca
The Yukon Nominee Program is made up of 4 program streams. These include:
And few of the steps are done by the employer including the followings:

The employer offers a full-time, permanent position to an eligible foreign national.
The employer and the foreign national complete all required forms for the Yukon Nominee Program.
The employer ensures all forms and documents are attached, completes and submits the application to the Yukon Nominee Program.
Once approved, the employer submits the compliance fee and the letter of offer to the Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) via the Employer Portal.
