My wife and our baby girl are planning on applying for a canadian study permit. She has an admission already and has already paid 3,500 out of 21,000 canadian dollars school fee, it is a 2year PG diploma in business administration.

My question are as follows;

1. What visa type will the baby (toddler- less than a year old) apply for as she can stay without her mum for now?

2. We're Nigerians, she has both medicals and police certificate done already, is it advisable for her to upload everything there or she should wait for a request from CIC...NB: the medical was done with the accredited medical centre including police report.

3. She will have about 34,000 canadian dollars in her own by the time she throws in the application, can i also include my brother including myself as sponsors?

4. I won't be applying with them as am currently working, am i enough as a strong home tie for both of them?

5. She currently not working because she has been taking care of our baby since birth, she worked prior that in the UK, does she have to explain the money in her account?

6. She made first application in UK last year, but because she's a citizen, she was refused, this makes it the second application for her but she's back in her home country Nigerian now.

i would be expecting your kind advise from experienced members as to what you think we should include in the application before she makes, she really wants this and i want it for her as well. :( 8) :'(

1. Temporary Residence Visa.
2. Doesn't matter if you do it early or later on.
3. You need CAD 10,000 + first year of tuition fees paid.
4. Generally (for students) strong home ties means a good academic history, quality admission and overall good profile.
5. If funding (or its source) lack credibility, you won't get a chance to explain anything, but a straight refusal.
6. You must disclose any prior visa refusal on study permit application.

First, i want to say thank you for your reply, it really means a lot to me; in the process of adding a family member to join in the application of my wife the question was asked

1. Why is your family member visiting Canada? and the option doesn't include TRV, the options available are shown below

a) visit less than 6months
b) visit more than 6months
c) Study less than six months
d) Study more than 6months
e) work in a work permit exempted category
f) work (LMIA required)
g) work (other)
h) Transit

Am confused as to which option to choose.

Secondly, the funds doesn't lack credibility and i was just wondering if she has to explain those that contributed towards to financing or just include their account statements, I am currently working with an Italian contracting company and my brother is the MD of an Indigenous Pharmaceutical Company.

She would definitely disclose the previous refusal in the application.

Thanks, and which options should we pick for the baby?

You can't use one TRV application for the whole family. Each person has to complete a separate TRV application & send everything in one envelope. You can sign on behalf of minor.

Thanks J5M

I do understand you can't use one TRV, for both of them, for the Baby which option from the previous options should we pick? That's the question
