Hi
I am a visiting researcher, coming to Canada under the global skill strategy program with a valid visitor record from 14 Jan to 14 May 2020 (Ony 120 days.)
I have got a postdoc offer starting from June 2020, so I have to apply for a work permit as soon as possible. I have heard that I cannot apply for a work permit inside Canada as I am here under the GSS program and I have to leave Canada and apply from outside then come back. The problem is due to Coronavirus outbreaks I am afraid of going back to my home country as almost all the flights have been canceled to my country ( I am from Iran), So I am afraid to go back and don't get the opportunity to be back.
Can anyone help me in this regard? Should I really leave Canada to get eligibility to apply for a work permit?
Thanks in advance.
