Hi Guys,

Yesterday my received line has disappeared and I found my middle name written incorrectly (two letters flipped)? The name was correct before the Received line disappeared? ... Looks like a typo by the system.

Please note that I asked for Name correction due to shorten version in the PR Card? Maybe this is related?!

Any idea? Should I worry? Could this affect the Citizenship card?

Thanks,

You should call MICC it should be correct, all your PR landing form DL Health card should be the same letters., If you missed some letter in your name thats OK but wrong spelling would be a problem. It might be a typo by MICC they can correct it

It is a CIC mistake .. the big question could this result in a mistake (typo) on the citizenship card?

I don't understand what you mean by "shorten version in the PR card" but if your name is long and there was a limit to the number of letters on the PR card, I would assume that they would leave letters off the middle name, rather than flip two letters. Either way, you need to get this corrected.

Yes, you should worry and you need to request another correction.

There is no citizenship card. There is a citizenship certificate with which you can apply for passport. If there are spelling discrepancies between your various IDs and the citizenship certificate, you may have problems signing in for the Oath or getting a passport. Get it fixed as soon as you can. It's their mistake, they need to fix it for you correctly.

My Name in the application is (My Name) (Fathers Name) (Grand Father Name) (Family Name) .. The PR had 2 letters missing from my Grandfathers Name as it has a limit of 15 characters .. My Current Passport,Driver License Health Card has my full (4 Parts) name correct.

The current E-CAS typo is in my Fathers Name not my Grand Fathers name which is missing 2 Characters in the PR, My Grand father Name is correct now in E-CAS But My father's name has 2 letters flipped in the middle .. this is a typo mistake from CIC and they already have all the documents showing my name correctly.

My only concern they if the rely on same computer as E-CAS to issue Citizenship certificate .. then the Certificate will include the same typo

Call the call centre and ask them to fix it. It's just never a good idea to have any name typos in the citizenship process. The worst case scenario is that they don't recognize the mistake as their own and demand fingerprints or additional docs to verify your identity.

Hi i have the same issue before 4 letters are missing in the landing form and they when i applied for my citizenship i called MICC and they tole me that the only problem is the way it was printed because of the limit in the space. I put my whole name in the application form. andd whenever i received any letter from MICC i saw that my full name is correct and mentioned. When i did my oath its the same thing written in my citizenship cert

Yes But now I have a newer problem .. my middle name is wrong (other than the PR Card Missing Characters issue) .. the E-CAS initally showed my name correctly ... Yesterday I saw Received Line Disappeared and a typo in my middle name)!!

I am worried my Citizenship certificate will have a typo as well.

The Point is that MY PR,DRIVER License .. etc has a correct name .. they had a typo when they entered my name to the system on E-CAS .. even my Name on E-CAS was correct couple of days ago until the Received Line Disappeared... Do they Generate the Citizenship Certificate Based on the Name on E-CAS system automatically?

sicko, why not just call them to get them to fix it?
There is no downside to getting it fixed but many risks to not getting it fixed (as mentioned in previous posts).
