Would you say CRS score of 463 is good enough? 1.8 years left for WP, trying to avoid PNP

Hi there,

As the title says - I'm trying to determine if its a huge risk to wait just for CEC draw with a score fo 463. Although I have the option to apply through PNP NS. However, I have received a job offer in the west starting fall 2022, so I intend to move accordingly.

The worst case scenario would be - I have to work for 12 months with AB employer and apply for AB PNP with 4 months left to my wp.

Would you say is this risk worthwhile?

It wasn't clear which province you're going to next but you might want to take a PNP in that province since the future of all program draws is uncertain. You mention "CEC draws", and I highly doubt CEC specific draws will ever be back (Fraser's past speech indicates all program draws). All program draws will probably be back in Q3 or Q4 of this year but the CRS cutoffs will be very high due to the overflown pool. So 463 seems quite risky. In fact, 463 would still be risky for all program draws in normal times when the pool wasn't overflown with high score candidates.

So I highly suggest you look into your PNP options or increasing your CRS above 475 if you really don't want a PNP nomination. Be advised though, as I said, the future of all program draws is uncertain and you might run out of your WP before the draws have returned.
