Hello dears,

Would you mind pointing out the difference between the 2 cases below?

Ram and Elizabeth are married and are 34 and 29 years old, respectively. They each hold Bachelor’s degrees and have been working as software developers for more than three years. They also each wrote the IELTS language test, and scored an 8 in each category. Neither has ever worked or studied in Canada. They entered the Express Entry pool with Elizabeth as the principal applicant. Their CRS score of 440 would have been sufficient to obtain an ITA during this most recent Express Entry draw.

Nadia is 36 years old, has a Master’s degree and has been working as a professor for six years. She has never worked or studied in Canada. Nadia wrote the IELTS language test and scored an 8 in each category. Her CRS of 440 would have been sufficient to obtain an ITA in today’s draw.

Ram, Liz and Nadia should have ideally got the ITA if they made their profiles before Jan 31 and I am assuming their CRS is 440.

The CRS in case for age will differ for both.

Also the crs for education would differ.

Keeping in mind the points for PA differ with a spouse.

In first case Liz is a primary applicant and she is 29 years old while Nadia is 36. Further Nadia compensates the points lost because of age by her master’s degree. Also in first case Ram’s education and language scores helps them in gaining points.

Ideally Nadia should look at getting married to someone who has at least a bachelor degree and IELTS above CLB 9 to increase her score and get the ITA next time if she missed it this time because of tie break.
