Good day
We finally received a positive LMIA last week while waiting for a few months for my husband. We have been in Canada for 2 years and have had to extend work permit and therefore needed new LMIA. Last night we received a rejection on his work permit saying no positive LMIA. Clearly there has been some misaligned paperwork so now we have to appeal it. We also need to apply for restoration within 90
Days as our status has now ended. With the new policy for restoration due to Covid we have to apply for authorization to work while we wait for restoration before 31 December. Does anyone know if my husband can work straight away once we apply for the authorization? Also has anyone experienced a similar issue?

Applying for authorization is not enough to start working again. He must wait until he receives an email back from IRCC confirming that he can start working again.

See information on the page below:

Specifically this bit:

Step 2: Wait for our email
Wait for us to send you an email. It will confirm that you can start your new job or work for your new employer while we process your application.

If you applied online for your work permit, you should get the email in about 30 business days. If you applied on paper, it may take longer.
