Why doesn't your "good friend" ask the question himself/herself? It takes someone that's supposedly "out of the country" to be interested enough to find this site and ask such question?

It's an odd question as if it's coming from one of the party involved. If I am not vested in the matter I wouldn't go as far as caring enough to spend the energy to find legal advice for something like this.
