Hello!

I recently got a temporary working visa (spouse open work permit).
I'm currently living in Israel and was offered by my current job to continue working from Canada.

From reading messages in the forum I understand that it's allowed to live in canada (under the temporary working visa) and work remotely for a different country, but there are a few things I didn't figure out and I wonder if someone can shed some light.

Do I need to register or somehow tell the Canadian authorities about my Israeli income/employment?
Do I need to somehow split the taxes between Israel and Canada?

Maybe at this point the solution for me is to ask an accountant :) that's also a good answer

Thanks in advance!

Hi

As you will be living in Canada with your spouse, you will most likely be determined to be a resident for tax purposes. This means you would need to declare your foreign income on your Canadian tax return. If there is a tax treaty between Canada and Israel, you will not be double-taxed.
