Hi,

Could some one please help me resolve my confusion.
My husband recently moved to Canada with work permit and has a SSN bank account, but lives in rented place. we do own furniture. I'm planning to visit him for short duration(<183 days). I'm employed in India and do my taxes here in India.
1. Do i have to pay tax in Canada?
2. Do i get residential status because my husband is in Canada?
3. If i remotely work for Indian employer from Canada for <183 days should i have to pay tax in Canada?
4. Once i move & get employed in to Canada for the tax year, should i pay tax for world income received from India during same tax year? ( employed in India before moving to Canada)

Thanks :)

"Theoretically" , if you are working ( even if remotely for Indian employer) while staying in Canada ( any duration 1 day or 365 days) then you need to pay taxes to Canada. Also you need to have Canadian work permit to do so.

I do have a work permit. I wanted to the tax implications. I read some where if you are present in any country other than home country for less than 183 days you need not pay that country tax.
can some one help me know if my understanding is correct?
