Working part time on Student visa

Recently, I got my student visa under s1 category. I'm just confused whether I'll be allowed to work off campus ,20 hours per week . Or do I have to wait till 6 months are completed and then apply for off campus work permit? (Heard of this somewhere). Can one work both off and on campus simultaneously but under legal duration of hours?

PS. Im very much conscious about working only legally. So no answers that carry illegal ways to work.

As per CIC, updated rules, students on study permit do not require any additional workpermit to work off campus part time jobs, and so can start working part time right from the day they enter in upto 20 hours/week legally during college days and upto 40 hrs/week during scheduled holidays. Hope this helps.
