Hi,

I am an International student and I have failed my semester and have to repeat it in January. So can I work part-time or full-time or cannot working between September to January?
My study permit and sin number expires on 30th November also I will be applying for a study permit extension soon.
 
No you can not work if you are not a studying. Your study visa will be cancelled within 90 days if you aren't actively studying. You will need a new study permit.

Would I be able to start working part time after applying for the new study permit and registering for the semester. Because the registration will start much earlier than January ?
 
You can only work in January when the new semester starts and you are attending school.
 
7 years later. I am you. Exactly the same situation. It would be of great help if you could tell me what you ended up doing?

Were you able to get a 'scheduled break' or did you have to take a 'leave of absence'?
