Working in BC on IEC, submitted BC PNP - how to work before getting PR?

I am currently coming to the end of my 1-year IEC visa (working holiday, from Taiwan), which expires on June 15, 2013. My employer just sent in a BC PNP application, and from what I've researched it looks like we should be able to get a nominationletter prior to the expiry of my current 1-year visa. However, I realize that this is just the first step in the process, and it will take 6-12 months more to obtain PR.

My question is how can I remain working after June 15, 2013 and prior to receiving my PR? I've read online that I can use my PNP nomination letter, assuming it is granted, to apply for a work permit. What type of work permit is this and where do I get it? Do I need to (or can I) leave the country after June 15, 2013?

Thanks in advance for your help and pointers.

From what I know, I think you should be able to apply for your new Work Permit along with a copy (others who have gone through this process can correct this, copy or original) of your PNP approval. From what you've mentioned, I believe you can apply for an Open Work Permit. Personally, I think you should be applying as soon as you get your PNP approval as the processing times these days are pretty long...

All the best!

In my opinion, you have to wait until receive the BCPNP nomination and they are going to give you a letter to apply for a close work permit, only valid to work with the company that sponsor you.. Good Luck ;)
