Working in Alberta for 2 years, looking to buy a car?

Hey all,

I'm going to be working in Alberta for the next to years and during that time I was planning on buying a car. What would the process be like? Would I be able to register the car with a U.S. Drivers license or would I need one from Alberta?

1st site will be the provincial AB about purchasing, registering, insuring and everything else needed to have a car.

A good site to, at least, check prices is kijiji - you can check only for AB cars.
