Hi,
I live in New Zealand and will be applying for Working Holiday visa. Currently in the process of preparing all the required documents. Would appreciate some input on the following:
1. The IEC resume template that we have to follow under the application guidelines has no mention of 'referees' in the outline - do we completely omit this part from our resume? Do we need employer reference at all for just the visa application? Just want to be really sure as it's usually more common to have referees listed in a resume. ( I actually prefer to let my employer know only after my application has been accepted.)
2. One of the guidelines says that we may have to undergo a police check & require a police certificate. I saw the 2 options for NZ citizens, either we apply ourselves from NZ to get the certificate or upload our consent to disclosure form to Canadian visa office to contact NZ authority for the check.
I'd rather give my consent form but just not 100% sure yet if we can do this option for Working holiday visa?
Because it says that "If you live in New Zealand: You must include all of the following with your Application for Permanent Residence: (this includes 'filling the consent to disclosure form'). It doesn't actually mention for 'working holiday applicant'. Has anyone gone this way before?
If we apply for the police certificate from NZ it will take about 6 weeks(?) and as far as I'm concerned, we only have 1-2 weeks to complete the 2nd stage of the visa application and thus submit the police certificate. So not enough time it seems...
3. Anyone who has applied from NZ, how long did it take until your application is fully accepted (letter of introduction & open work permit applc accepted)? I assume if things go smoothly, it can be up to 6 weeks but with getting police certificates & going through medical exam, anyone waited for longer than 6 weeks?
Thanks in advance!
