Hi Guys,

Apologies if this has been answered I did a few searches and couldn't find any relevant info. I'm an aussie citizen and am 28 so can apply for the 2 year working holiday in Canada which is fine, however my wife is 31 and won't be eligable for this visa. Is there anyway to get her a visa where she could work through a spousal visa?

The other option is I could do a relatively senior professional recruitment role (Internal or agency) and could apply for more of a 2 year young professional visa once I secured a job but would that give my wife any better opportunity to get a work visa than the working holiday option as this would obviously take longer?

Thanks

If you come on a close work permit for a NOC O, A or B position good for at least six months, your spouse would qualify for an open work permit, allowing her to work for any employer (and the reverse is true, actually.) I do not know if they would allow that on an IEC visa (I suspect not, since it isn't NOC restricted) though she would certainly qualify for visitor status while you were in Canada.
