I am a U.S. citizen and have been granted permanent residency through the Express Entry program. I will be relocating to Toronto in the next two weeks. My American employer has agreed to keep me on as a full-time employee working remotely while I live in Canada. Is this going to be an issue when I cross the border? Or is this ok, I just need to sort out my tax situation?

No issue. You'll just report your US income in your Canadian tax return. As an American, you'll also have the "privilege" of continuing to file US taxes even though you're no longer living there.

On the same note but a slightly diff question (If I am hijacking the thread, let me know and I'll start a new one) - what about a non-American who moves to Canada as a PR and wants to work full time for a US employer? Assuming a remote work scenario with occasional work related visits to the US.

- Under what status can they work for a US employer from Canada? I believe H-1B won't work as the employee needs to be residing in US for that?
- How are the taxes managed? Will they need to be paid to Canada?
- Can the person travel to US for brief work related meetings/knowledge transfers on B-1 visa?
