Working for a Canadian company overseas

Hello All.

I read that the days spent working for a Canadian company overseas will be calculated towards the residency obligations but not Citizenshop. Unless you were working at the embassy or the military.
Do you have any formal thing about the above?
Its not that I found anything in the UAE, but I want to have some hopes. Do not want to go ALONE. I'm already under medications from the stress.

Any help in this regard is appreciated.

Take a look at http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/guides/5445ETOC.asp, especially Appendix A - there are very specific rules. And this is only for residency. For naturalization you must be in Canada. If you don't want to actually move, why be a PR?

Hi There-Do u know of any Canadian companies in the UAE?? I landed allmost 2 years ago and do not want to go as i'm going ALONE.
I heard that the days spend working for a Canadian company overseas will be counted towards the residency requirments not citizenship unless of course ur working 4 the government.

That's a great list to have, qorax.

Loulou79 - just make sure you check on the very specific requirements for the ownership and operation of the business in the link I had sent above since, especially for GCC countries where you need to have local ownership of companies and therefore most are set up as independent companies from headquarters or as independent JVs with locals. This may make exception 2 in appendix A harder to achieve than it seems at first glance based solely on the name of the company.
