Hi,

I am a single person on a work permit in Canada for last 20 months. I have already applied for PR in Nov 2018 and by the looks of it i am at IP2 status. However due to some unfortunate circumstances at work i want to quit my job. So my question is that apart from informing the IRCC can i stay in the country or do i have to leave the country if i leave my job. My application should be done by May 14,2019.

Thanks.

You might qualify for a BOWP. Is your work permit closed or open?
Yes i do qualify for a BOWP as stated by the letter from CIC that i received when i applied for my PR. However my work permit is employer linked i.e. closed and my employer name is also stated on my work permit.

Thank you for the prompt response.
