Ok so I have a friend from Japan who has been working in Toronto since October 30 last year, she has extended her work visa once.
Her visa expired midway in October, so she currently does not have a job(was working at Tim Hortons).
She applied for a Visitors visa and has a Plane ticket set for the 26th of November.
The question here is, as she is from Japan, does she Require a Visitors visa if she wanted to remain here, not working, for another few months.
I read that Japan was on the list of countries exempt from that.
So basically if her work Visa ended, what would be her status, if she has been here one year?
Also if she DOES need a visitors visa, what is the minimum length of time it is issued for? she is worried that because her plane ticket, which is for the 26th of November and was added as part of application, the Visitors Visa would expire also on the 26th.
Is this right?
Currently her work visa is running out very soon and she has not yet recieved this Visitor visa she applied for, what status does that make her?
