We’re on refugee claimant. Our hearing was couple months ago and we’re still waiting for our NOD. But our work permits have expired, so we applied for them through a refugee help organization but all our work permit application got denied because we paid no fees? The person who applied for us said we’re exempted from the fees. My relatives who are on same basis as us renewed their work permit while waiting for their NOD and paid no fees. (PSA: I don’t mind paying the fees) but is this for everyone, do they pick and choose which refugee claimant is exempted from fees or what?
If anyone could tell me their experience with renewal of their expired work permit while being refugee claimant and waiting for a NOD, I’d greatly appreciate it.
