hi to all, i renewed my work permit for another 2 year contract(september 2012-september 2014) but 2 weeks after i received my TWP my employer released me, can i still used my TWP that i have to apply for a canada visa, i want to go home in the philippines for some family medical problem. is my TWP still considered valid even though i was already released, my previous employer had already given me my ROE. thanks and God Bless us all

I believe the TWP is still valid in the sense that you can continue staying in the country, but cannot work for another employer unless they apply for a new LMO for you.

Though you would still need to get your passport stamped for a temporary resident visa (TRV).

If you have a TRV, you should be able to re-enter the country.
