Hello,
I am a truck driver for 19 years, 44 years old. Living in the Netherlands.I sold my house now. I have a job offer in New Brunswick. Can I apply for a work permit. Do I have to do that in Berlin or can I also apply in Canada.
Thank you, Robin

If you are a Netherlands citizen or other visa exempt citizen, you can apply for a work permit as you enter Canada as long as you have the labour market opinion from your employer. Be aware that a truck driver is not a skilled job so after 2 years in Canada, you will have to leave for 4 months before you can apply for a new permit. It is better to get a job in Alberta or BC where truck drivers are covered under the provincial nominee programs and you would be able to apply for residency.

For an investor visa, you need business experience and a business plan. The federal program requires $400,000 investment but some provinces nominee programs will let you invest as little as 150,000 or 200. I think NB doesn't even have a minimum investment as long as they approve your plan.
