Hi all,

I was working in Canada on a one year post graduation work permit. When My work permit was about to expire, I applied for a work permit extension. I was under implied status while it was processing. I got a rejection letter that said i am on a 90 day restoration period.

I found an employer who got me an LMIA and asked me to go to the border and apply for work permit. Can I get restoration done at the border?
My employer says online applications take at least 40 days and he cannot wait that long for me to get a work permit.

I would appreciate any help I can get.

Thank you.

No - you can't get a restoration processed at the border. Going to the border for your new work permit would only be an option if you were in status. Since you are out of status and have to apply for restoration - you have to submit a formal application.
