Work permit vs spousal application

Hi

As we know the backlog and 22 months processing time for spousal visa now.
Is it ok as a Canadian that i apply work permit for my spouse residing outside canada ?
What is the fastest way other than visit visa ?

Unless you find an Employer who is willing to do an LMIA and bring her on a work permit, your only other option would be a visitor visa citing your PR sponsorship

I assume you are either a PR or citizen. If so, it is not possible for your spouse to apply for an open work permit from outside of Canada.
 
In terms of the work permit application in process, IRCC confirmed that the application was received on March 31, 2022, and remains in process at the visa office in New Delhi. IRCC noted that the criminality verifications have passed and remain valid. IRCC also let us know that the assessment to determine whether your spouse is eligible for an application in this category remains in process—a note on file from June 23, 2022, indicates that the file requires additional verifications. what does this additional verifications reqiures mean?? this is a reply from mp inqiury

This is just a standard update and sometimes they need additional checks which will be done and you won't know what those are
